Operations Supervisor - Pipe Hanger WeldingThe successful candidate must provide technical assistance and overall direction to a team of hourly representative employees. This position of Operations Supervisor provides a platform to gain a working knowledge of various manufacturing environments and their relationships with other parts of Electric Boat business.

This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer or experienced trades-person to advance into a career-building leadership position and gain invaluable experience to support their career development.Roles and ResponsibilitiesLead the activities of approximately 10-15 hanger welding employees in the performance of welding of hangers on hull to support ships systemsCoach and Mentor welders to establish a driven and skilled workforcePrimary point of contact to interface with engineering, ship's management, quality and other trade departmentsLead the team to achievement of company goals for safety, quality, cost, schedule and continuous improvementTake ownership of team performanceResponsibilitiesHave the ability to read and interpret blueprints, procedures, and related reference documentsHave the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with subordinates and supervisorsMust be able to work all assigned shiftsMust be able to work extended hoursApplicant must obtain and maintain a DOD security clearance as a condition of employmentCapable of reading, interpreting and putting into effect plans, procedures and instructionsGood presentation skills and attention to detail preferredProficient in MS Word, Excel and Power Point preferredQualificationsRequired:High School Diploma or GED3+ years of trade, manufacturing, and or military experienceStructural, pipefitting and/or welding experiencePreferred:College/technical school AS/BS degreePrevious supervisory experiencePrevious related Military/Navy experienceKnowledge of VIRIGINA or CLB submarines
