This role pays an hourly rate of $19.00-$22.00.

Tucker Civic Center features a 12,500-seat arena, 34 luxury suites, 476 club seats, over 54,000 sq. ft. of meeting and exhibition space and an arena view restaurant, the Spotlight Grille. The arena is home to Florida State Men's and Women's basketball and is known for its electric atmosphere and fierce home court advantage. Not only a music and sports venue, the arena also is frequently used for trade shows, large catered functions, receptions, religious services, and classes.ResponsibilitiesCoordinate and supervise event sets/conversionsOversee hiring, training, scheduling and managing of changeover staffManage event support staff (stand-by staff, stagehands, fire panel) during eventsAssist with the daily maintenance operations of the buildingOrganize all storage rooms to be in neat and working orderMaintain all event equipment (staging, basketball equipment, etc)Oversee opening or closing of facility for a move-in or move-outBuild and maintain tenant relationsProvide support and management oversight of the changeover department: event set-up and tear-down, i.e. basketball floor, stage risers, chairs etc.Participate in the development and administration of the Operations Department budget; forecasting of future funds needed for staffing, equipment, materials and suppliesAssist in the purchasing of event equipmentAssist in the scheduling and maintain approval of payroll through scheduling management programProvide the event manager the proper labor reports in a timely fashionEnsure part-time staff is working safely, efficiently and are aware of proper safety guidelines.Plan, direct, coordinate, and implement the work plan for facility operationsOther duties as assignedIntellectual/Social/Physical Demands & Work Environment:The intellectual/social, physical demands and work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This position also requires constant use of interpersonal skills including: ability to direct/motivate/inform staff and foster collaboration, being able to recognize and resolve conflicts, being able to openly communicate in writing and verbally with clients.Physical Demands:While performing the essential functions of the job, the employee constantly operates a computer and other office devices such telephones, copy machines, fax machines, etc; constantly moves about the arena and event sites before, during and after events to service clients and supervise staff; constantly communicates via telephone, two-way radio and in-person with others to exchange accurate information.Work Environment:The duties of this position are performed indoors and occasionally outdoors in the weather conditions prevalent at the time. The noise level in the work environments is usually moderate to loud during events and minimal during non-event times.QualificationsBachelor's degree in business, facility management, or another related field preferredExperience with facility coordination and direct employee supervisionStrong leadership and organizational skills with ability to function in a multi-task environmentStrong written and oral communication skills are vitalAbility to work beyond normal business hours as required, including but not limited to nights, weekends and holidaysForklift and aerial lift certifications are necessaryStrengthened by our Differences.
