Operations Supervisor – 3rd ShiftLocation: Troy, MIReports To: Plant ManagerThis Operations Supervisor role is tasked with driving continuous improvement and optimizing all processes on 3rd shift within a multi-functional automotive mechanical and specialty paint facility directly servicing multiple OEM clients. This role oversees all 3rd shift operations within the plant, which includes automotive mechanical, paint, fabrication, milling, composite, parts, shipping/receiving, logistics, maintenance and quality to ensure policies and procedures are followed, while maximizing operational performance. This individual must have the key skills to drive all processes that maximize stewardship, safety, quality and productivity.

Effective communication to all levels of the organization, on all shifts, is an essential element of this job. This position is expected to work side by side with the team as necessary.Essential job functions:Plan, organize, direct and run optimum day-to-day operations to exceed our clients' expectations, in direct partnership with the Plant ManagerIncrease production, asset capacity and flexibility while minimizing unnecessary costs and maintaining current quality standardsManage systems and processes that track and optimize productivity and standards, metrics and performance targets to ensure effective return on assetsCollect and analyze data to find instances of waste or excessive overtimeResponsibility for production output, product quality and on-time shippingAllocate resources effectively and fully utilize assets to produce optimal resultsImplement strategies in alignment with strategic initiatives and provide a clear sense of direction and focus for operational teamCommit to and further drive plant safety proceduresInsert appropriate corrective actions where requiredBuild a strong relationship with workgroup and recruit, manage and develop plant teamAddress Team Member issues or grievances and administer corrective action in partnership with Human ResourcesQualifications:Bachelor's degree is preferred, but not requiredExperience working in automotive manufacturing/production environmentRequires the Following Skills:Excellent communication, both oral and written. Must be able to communicate effectively via telephone, email and written meansProven knowledge of business and management principles (budgeting, strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources and profit & loss)Familiarity with automotive industry standard equipment and technical expertiseKnowledgeable in areas of safety, quality, productivity, demand creation, inventory and stewardship processesComputer literacy- ability to produce Excel & PowerPoint information and present capably, as neededAbility to create accountability and to lead by exampleStrong team building, decision-making and people management skillMust be able to list up to 75 lbs.
