Operations Shift SupervisorThe Operations Shift Supervisor is responsible for managing the daily operation of the mill. This includes safety, personnel issues, production, and quality.Job Duties:Responsible for safety and enforcement of policiesMust be flexible in work hours. Normal work schedule can include weekends and off hoursCommunicate with proper personnel when issues arise in the facilityConduct accident investigations and schedule required drug screening as neededReport employee attendance issues to required personnelInspect product quality and instruct operators to make line adjustments as neededReview coil schedule line-ups to ensure accuracyDirect maintenance personnel for off shifts and projects as neededCoordinate repair activates with maintenance departmentDistribute production paperwork at the end of shiftMonitor, analysis, and improve process using SEI systemManage and coordinate activities for housekeeping and 6S systemDistribute operating supplies to crews as requiredComplete crew deviations reportsFacilitate trainingQualifications and Education Requirements:High school diploma or GEDMust have a strong commitment to safetyMust have strong written and verbal communication skillsStrong computer skillsPreferred Skills:Two or Four year degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related fieldExperience in the Steel IndustryEmployee Benefits:Health, Dental and vision coverage optionsLife, short and long term disability insurancesNon Union 401(k) plan with employer matchingPaid vacation and holiday timeHealth and wellness programsImportant Notes: NLMK is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
