Operations ManagerChewy is currently recruiting an Operations Manager for our fulfillment center. This leader will be hands-on in a start-up environment and will build and maintain relationships with hourly associates, managers, carrier partners, vendors, other FC teams and various departments in the company. This individual will be someone who likes dealing with ambiguity, change, and enjoys getting into the details to drive improvements every single day.What you'll do:Lead inbound/outbound activities for the FC, including receiving, picking, packing, and shipping, across two shiftsBe a guide in providing a healthy and safe work environment for associates working on the outbound teamDirect warehouse supervisory personnel to achieve prescribed objectives, including timely fulfilling of customer orders while maintaining the highest possible warehouse on time shipment and low shipment defectsEnsure that all Key Performance Indicators (important metrics) are on target for the operation, such as warehouse misses, on time shipments, shipment defects, aged tasks, and production levels per hour, and cost per order lineEngage a team of Area Managers and Operations LeadsDrive planning and forecastingLeverage the Area Managers by sourcing and furthering ideas, and rolling them into the creation of improvement plans for the functional areaMentor, train and develop Area Managers for career progression and learning!Ability to develop and share standard processes across the shifts and networkBuild a positive team multifaceted that encourages all employees in the FC to guide and motivate change within the facility, adapt to the dynamic business, and stay focused on the customer experienceDrive continuous improvement to safety, quality, cost, and delivery while growing and expanding capabilities within the warehouseUse the site Warehouse Management System (WMS) to optimize detailed order fulfillment and provide operational insights to improve WMS effectivenessWhat You'll Need:A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited University or comparable experience5+ years of management experience in fulfillment center/warehouse operations; prefer retail/e-commerce experienceAt least 4 years of management experience in Receiving, Inventory Control, and/or Order FulfillmentAt least 4 years of shown experience of positively running large groups of hourly employeesExperience with building or improving inventory management, order management, and warehouse management systems and processesPassion for working in a start-up environment with high level of ambiguity and changeStrong project management and continuous improvement skillsMetrics driven demeanorCustomer service obsession, with desire to go above and beyond to satisfy customer needsEffective communicator and leader for employees, direct reports, cross-functional teams and executive leadershipShown ability to quickly adapt and drive the right results using dataThe highest levels of integrity and ethics!Must be flexible to work weekendsPosition may require travelBonus:E-Commerce experienceCertification and/or experience in Lean Six Sigma and/or Green Belt certificationThe hourly range for this role is $39.90 - $63.70.We offer the following benefits for our team members:20% Chewy.com DiscountMedical, Dental, Vision, FSA and HSA (eligibility on the 1st of the month following date of hire)Life and Disability Insurance401(k) with company matchingWellness benefits through Wellbeing @ChewyEmployee Assistance Program (EAP)Paid Time Off: Team members are eligible to accrue up to 80 hours of PTO their first yearSubsidized child, adult, and pet backup care through Care.comDiscounts on many items through the LifeMart Discount platformThe option to sign up for Payactiv's Earned Wage Access program and access a portion of the money you've already earned, before your regular payday!High volume and specialty positions are eligible for wage increases starting after 3-months of serviceReferral Bonuses - $500 per referralChewy is an equal opportunity employer.
