Operations ManagerThe primary function of the Operations Manager is to provide operational leadership for one or more assigned departments within the Valley Structures organization. This position will directly manage one or more front line supervisors within assigned area(s) to support an engaged culture and to help ensure excellence in safety, quality, productivity, and cost control.

Responsibilities include eliminating waste in the overall value stream, ensuring that the value stream meets or exceeds customer requirements, and ensuring that all work within the value stream is conducted in a safe and secure manner.Essential Functions:Provide direct leadership and support for front line supervisor(s) on a daily basisEnsure all safety systems, processes, and policies are being adhered to at all timesDevelop strategies and goals that will meet the product line objectivesActively promote a culture of continuous improvementPreparing and utilizing a Lean tools and techniques to eliminate waste and improve processesLead and mobilize associates inside and outside of the value stream to enable required changesLead day-to-day activities to ensure that current commitments are achieved and improvements are madeExecution of the master production schedule, including long and short-range capacity planningCommunicate departmental, divisional, and Company information to all employees on a regular basisThis position reports into the Senior Plant Manager and may have 1-3 direct reports with approx. 75-125 indirect reportsOther duties as assignedRequired Qualifications of Every Candidate (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):Preferred Bachelors with 6+ years relevant experience OR Associates Degree with 8+ years relevant experience OR 10+ years of relevant experienceStrong leadership skills and the ability to support divisional business objectivesThorough knowledge of equipment and processes in assigned areasAbility to react to change in a timely and organized mannerAbility to effectively interpret and present information both one-on-one and in front of groupsAble to work effectively in a fast-paced, high volume environmentProven managerial skills (previous management/supervisory related work history)Ability to interact effectively with customers and suppliersMust be a person of passion and integrity who has the drive to excel and deliver exceptional resultsMust have experience with budgeting, forecasting and cost controlling measures within a manufacturing environmentMust be able to work effectively within a team and build collaborative relationships to drive business objectivesIdentify and drive breakthrough changes/improvementsMust have experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)Ability to travel up to 10%Highly Qualified Candidates Will Also Possess These Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree in Business, Engineering Technology, or a related field is preferred3+ years supervisory experience in a manufacturing operationSolid understanding of Lean Manufacturing is preferredFinancial experience including P & L responsibilitiesProject Management and/or Capital Project experienceBenefitsValmont offers employees and their families a comprehensive Total Wellbeing benefit package to ensure their individual and family's overall wellness needs are met.
