Operations & Regulatory Coordinator
Location: Salem, OR Pay: $20-$27 per hour (DOE) Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM
Position Overview
Express Employment Professionals is looking for an organized, detail-oriented individual with some bookkeeping or accounting experience who is interested in learning the trucking industry and growing into a long-term career opportunity.
The primary focus of this position will be learning the regulatory, compliance, and operational side of the business , including licensing, insurance, safety, hazmat, logistics, and dispatch.
The long-term goal is to train the right person in accounting and have them eventually take over the accounting responsibilities within 3-5 years .
Key Responsibilities
Regulatory & Compliance
- Maintain licenses, permits, registrations, and required documentation
- Assist with trucking, hazmat, safety, and insurance requirements
- Track renewals, filings, deadlines, and compliance records
- Learn and stay current on applicable trucking regulations
- Assist with special projects related to compliance and operations
Operations & Logistics
- Assist with dispatch and scheduling
- Learn about trucks, drivers, equipment, and transportation logistics
- Help coordinate loads and daily operational needs
- Maintain organized records and documentation
Accounting
- Assist with Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable
- Apply existing bookkeeping or accounting experience to the role
- Learn the company's accounting processes and gradually take on additional responsibilities
What We're Looking For
- Some bookkeeping, accounting, AR/AP, or related experience
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Comfortable managing paperwork, deadlines, and multiple priorities
- Interested in learning regulations and compliance requirements
- Strong follow-through and willingness to learn
- Interested in building a long-term career in the trucking industry
