Position Overview

A well-established alternative investment firm in Stamford is seeking an experienced Operations Analyst to join its investment operations team.

This is a hands‑on role supporting the day‑to‑day operations of the firm’s investment funds, including trade support, reconciliations, corporate actions, expense allocations, and coordination with fund administrators and custodians.

The ideal candidate has prior hedge fund operations experience and enjoys operations as a long‑term career path. We’re looking for someone who is highly organized and detail‑oriented, but also proactive — someone who will identify inefficiencies, solve problems, and improve processes rather than simply maintain existing workflows.

Responsibilities

  • Support daily operational activities across multiple investment funds and entities
  • Book and monitor fixed income and repo transactions, including settlements and margin calls
  • Perform position, cash, and balance sheet reconciliations and investigate discrepancies
  • Track mandatory and voluntary corporate actions and manage proxy voting activities
  • Prepare and process expense allocations across funds and entities
  • Work closely with fund administrators, custodians, and other external partners to resolve operational issues
  • Manage securities transfers and re‑registration processes
  • Handle DWAC transactions from initiation through completion
  • Identify opportunities to improve operational processes and take ownership of implementing enhancements
  • Assist with additional operational projects as the platform continues to evolve

Qualifications

  • Prior hedge fund operations experience required
  • Approximately 5–10 years of investment operations experience preferred; flexibility for the right candidate
  • Strong hands‑on experience with position and/or cash reconciliations
  • Experience supporting fixed income transactions
  • Experience with repo trade booking, settlement, and margin calls strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with corporate actions and proxy voting
  • Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and advanced formulas
  • Excellent attention to detail and follow‑through
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of operational processes
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and a process‑improvement mindset

Nice to Have

  • Python
  • Experience working with multiple fund administrators and custodians

This is a strong opportunity for an experienced hedge fund operations professional who wants to join a collaborative investment firm where they can take ownership of key processes and have a meaningful impact on how the operational function runs.
