Operational Inventory ControllerPARR is the total source for homebuilding supplies, solutions, and services. We focus on supplying building materials and solutions to professional home builders of all sizes including custom builders, large production builders, and multifamily builders. Our customers and community members know that they can rely on us for Legendary Service and quality products.Pay: $22.10-$24.24 hourlyDuties and ResponsibilitiesPrimary Inventory DutiesPerform inventory counts daily as required. i.e.

cycle counts, stock checks, empty peg/bin counts, etc.Maintains accurate inventory physical counts in relationship to system inventory counts at a level that meets Company standards.Audit, research, and investigate causes of inventory discrepancies between actual on-hand and system quantities as a result of cycle counts, stock checks, empty peg/bin counts, backorders, negative quantities, word-of-mouth, etc.Maintain, research and correct negative quantitiesMaintain and perform adjustments due to product damage, theft, cull, etc.Audit and maintain inventory for dead stock in accordance to the Company's policy and best practicesAudit and maintain special order (non-stock) inventory to reduce loss in accordance to the Company's policy and best practiceCollaborate with other OIC's to resolve inventory related issuesAdditional Inventory Related ResponsibilitiesMaintain product locations (bins) and site location mapOrganize, coach, and participate in physical inventories and if applicable, perpetual physical inventoryCollaborates with Yard Management and staff to avoid discrepanciesCollaborate with Yard Management to develop methods and best practices to limit lost inventory due to theft or damagesCollaborate with the Receiving Coordinator, Load Checker and Dispatcher to ensure product readiness and On-Time-In-Full commitments are being metParticipate in the Inventory Exchange Program and team audits of other locations when neededCoach fellow team members on proper inventory processes and best practicesMaintain records of inventory adjustments, changes, and counts as an auditing toolLocation Responsibilities as assigned by location managerHelp teammates with customer service issuesAssist customers when appropriate (Do not walk past a customer)Assist with receiving and material return processAssist with stocking and facing of productAssist with maintenance of retail pricing labelsAssist with additional duty requests from location management teamBe a safety advocateMust be adaptable and willing to do what's needed for the good of the locationQualificationsHigh School Diploma or GED equivalentExperienced in the Lumber industryKnowledgeable in inventory control principles and protocolsAbility to speak, write, and read English requiredMust be able to operate a personal computer, smartphone, scanner, and any other equipment necessary for the jobProficiency in Microsoft, Word, Excel, and OutlookPoint-of-sale system experienceClass C driver's license and must have and maintain a good driving record requiredUnderstanding of auditing best practices preferredAbility to operate a forklift preferredShoes that are puncture resistant, slip resistant, and made of leather or composite material requiredInterpersonal SkillsAbility to work cordially, professionally, diplomatically and with a high level of customer service in a dynamic environmentDemonstrate sound judgment in dealing with sensitive business matters with internal and external customers of all typesMust maintain confidentiality and accuracy of all information related to company finances and records, particularly, cost of goods purchased and soldAbility and willingness to identify processes, tools and/or procedures that may be improved upon to improve the workplace and outcomes for our customersDisplays strong communication skills, to include, but is not limited to: in-person (verbal and non-verbal), via video conference, written, e-mail, and telephoneStrong focus, planning, organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage changing priorities, handle multiple projects, and do what is necessary to meet deadlines, while maintaining a high degree of attention to detail and accuracyAbility to function independently, as part of a team, and as a leader with a positive attitude, strong work ethic and commitment to excellenceAbility to think and respond quickly, positively, and professionally to constantly changing circumstancesAbility to appropriately manage stress and interact with othersWorking ConditionsThis position requires a rotating schedule between assigned locations in a set region. The working environment is fast paced and with teams that have a variety of personalities.
