Logan Star Point TechnicianWe seek flexible team members who have a minimum of three years work experience after graduating high school, with industrial experience preferred. A high school diploma/ equivalent is required. Must be willing to work rotating shifts on a weekly basis and available for work any day of the year including weekends and holidays.Major responsibilities include acting as Team Leader, documenting appropriate information, facilitating Team meetings. Evaluating ones own as well as Team performance, being accountable to initiate or raise the question of the need to continuously improve and to drive the Team to a state of "resilience". Managing the Team's manpower, appraisal process, Pay for Progression points and training guidelines; monitoring time sheet accuracy; acting as a call-in contact; and coordinating the Team's hiring process. Managing dispositioned metal flow; monitoring Hold Ticket and Data input accuracy; attending quality meetings; overseeing on-shift dispositions; attending customer/supplier meetings; and supporting Level 1 audit control plan. Tracking and relaying production information; interfacing with Production Planning; and controlling Team spending to budget. Auditing; producing incident reports; monitoring housekeeping; participating in Environmental and Housekeeping walk-thrus; attending scheduled meetings; tracking safety-related equipment repairs; managing annual training and documentation; and managing new hire orientation. Producing Team monthly reports; overseeing production reporting; and managing process control. Operating all production machinery and mobile equipment. Drafting maintenance work orders, making suggestions to Maintenance planners and leading operator roles during outages. Rotating shifts as required by Team, unit and/or Company policies and procedures.

Handling, inspecting, packaging, shipping and transportation of hazardous waste and for compliance to applicable regulatory requirements.Position accountabilities include knowledge of business protocol combined with historical knowledge of the Company that allows consistent and professional interaction with all levels of the organization. Prioritizing and managing personal and Unit accountabilities while allowing the Team to make decisions that affect day-to-day business. 40% of influence is based on position expertise and/or experience, while the remaining 60% is based on interpersonal abilities. Thinking independently in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment. Compounded difficulty in problem solving due to shift work and inter-Team communications. Change is a constant that requires effective communication and Team-to-Team cooperation. A very high degree of personal and/or procedural control is used to ensure that both the Team and Unit are in support of the organization's business philosophy and plan. This control affects the organization's ability to meet customer needs. Excellent communication skills and effective problem-solving skills required. Customer/supplier thought process preferred. Willingness to work in a self-managed team environment is necessary. Consensus building is a vital skill.

Ability to support a positive, challenging, and participative work environment required.Essential physical, sensory, and mental requirements include sitting 8 hours, standing 8 hours or walking 6 hours per day. Using stairs and ladders. Lifting more than 50 lbs. and carrying same. Using a computer &/or phone daily. Working under time pressure. Walking on slippery, uneven surfaces. Having good vision, hearing & speaking ability. Reading, writing, and doing simple math and statistical computations. Analyzing reports and making decisions daily. Assisting in creating methods of goal attainment. Conducting research & implementing recommendations of others.

Assisting in developing plans, procedures, goals and processes based on data analysis. Training others and evaluating performance. Working indoors, inside the manufacturing plant and outside. Using an office, desk, or control room daily. Extreme heat & cold, dust, dirt, chemicals, vibrations, noise, and fumes are likely. Mobile equipment and heavy crane, and equipment hazards present in this position.
