Operating Room Technician II CVOR

In Cardiovascular Operating Room at Main Campus Children's of Alabama

Work schedule will be Full-time on the Day Shift, Monday-Friday with call shifts.

Summary:

The Operating Room Technician II (often referred to as Scrub Technician) assists the team by preparing, maintaining and anticipating instrument, equipment, supply and procedural needs for all cardiovascular surgical procedures. ORT II is responsible for facilitating the safe and effective conduct of surgical procedures, ensuring that the operating room environment is safe, that equipment functions properly and that the operative procedure is conducted under conditions that maximize patient safety. They have an understanding of the procedure being performed and anticipate the needs of the surgeon and assistants.

• Assists in clerical work, patient transportation and other duties as assigned

Education:

• High School graduate or equivalent
• Graduate of an approved Operating Room Technician Program or 3 years Operating Room Technician experience

Experience:

• 2 Years of experience with program graduation
• 3 years Operating Room Technician experience required in lieu of program graduation

Licensures, Certifications, and/or Registries:

• Current BLS certification required
• CertifiedSurgical Technologist (CST) preferred

Credentials with Equivalent Qualifications:

• Basic Life Support
• Certified Surgical Technologist

Education with Equivalent Qualifications:

• High School Diploma Graduate or Equivalent

Experience with Equivalent Qualifications:

• 0 Year Staff Level

Schedule: Monday-Friday with call shifts, Day Shift, 8-Hour Shifts
