Shift: 8:30 AM - 7:00 PM
Experience:
• 12 months of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.
• AS completion required.
Requirements:
• This role may require floating to additional units and locations
• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >50 miles from facility to be submitted.
• Flu vaccination required for submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.
• Anyone who worked as Staff at a facility in this program in the last 24 months cannot be submitted.
• Anyone currently working at a facility in this program cannot be submitted.

Required Skills/Experience: Independently scrubs basic surgical procedures. Demonstrates ability to problem solve in relation to the procedure being performed. Applies basic knowledge of anatomy and physiology, medical terminology, microbiology, and pharmacology for optimal surgical patient care. Applies basic knowledge of electricity, chemistry, computers, robotics, and lasers for optimal surgical patient care. Demonstrates knowledge and practice of patient care concepts and perioperative teamwork. Applies principles of sterile technique during surgical procedures.
Required Credentials: Associate’s Degree in Surgical Technology OR Certificate of completion of Surgical Technology program.
Unit Details: The Surgical Technician functions as an integral part of the perioperative team as the first, second or assisting Surgical Technician, delivering safe and effective care to the patient during the intraoperative period. Provides age specific care to obstetrical patients. Participates in room turnover and set-up. Effectively performs sterilization, disinfection and documents loads.
Shift & Scheduling: DAYS; with on call. Weekend shifts rotate. Holiday shifts rotate.
Floating Requirements: Travelers assigned to the Greater Peoria Service Area may be required to float between the following sites: Carle Health Methodist Hospital, Carle Health Pekin Hospital, and/or Carle Health Proctor Hospital. The Carle Leader will notify the traveler directly when there is a need to float between locations.
7 days maximum time off. Maximum consecutive days off: 3
2 Charge/Lead/Supervisor references required from within the last 2 years
