Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Operating Room Registered Nurse to provide perioperative care in a fast‑paced surgical unit. The ideal candidate will have prior OR experience, strong clinical judgment, and the flexibility to float and participate in on‑call coverage.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct perioperative patient care in the operating room, including preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative nursing.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and the surgical team to ensure safe and efficient procedures.
• Utilize Cerner for electronic charting and documentation.
• Participate in unit assignments, including floating between surgical areas and on‑call coverage as required.
• Follow all hospital policies and procedures regarding infection control and patient safety.
• Comply with facility vaccination requirements: Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions only); COVID-19 vaccine not required.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Education: Current Registered Nurse (RN) license required.
• Experience: Prior operating room (OR) nursing experience required.
• Licensure: Active Illinois RN license required.
• Skills & Knowledge:
  • Proficiency in perioperative nursing practices and surgical instrumentation.
  • Ability to manage multiple surgical cases efficiently and safely.
  • Strong clinical judgment and decision‑making skills.
  • Competence with electronic medical record systems (Cerner preferred).
  • Flexibility to float between OR units and respond to on‑call assignments.
• Other Requirements: Local candidates preferred.
