About This Role
The Operating Room Circulating Nurse is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating individual patient care in the operating room. This role is ideal for a dedicated RN who thrives in a fast‑paced environment and is committed to delivering high‑quality patient care.

What You'll Do
- Assess the patient's physical and psychosocial condition on an ongoing basis throughout the continuum of care.
- Develop, communicate, and document a plan of care reflecting individualized patient problems and interventions.
- Implement and coordinate the plan of care in collaboration with the healthcare team.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of the plan of care and revise as needed.
- Plan for education after assessing the individual learning needs of the patient and family.
- Function as a preceptor to new staff.
- Function as a charge nurse.
- Perform other duties as assigned to ensure smooth operation of the department/unit.
- Explain procedures/environment to patients as appropriate.
- Implement actions to prevent patient injury from various hazards.
Requirements
- Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; BSN preferred.
- Experience: Previous peri-operative course curriculum and/or minimum 1 year of recent experience preferred.
- Licenses & Certifications: Valid State of Connecticut Registered Nurse License; BLS required; Certification in peri-operative nursing preferred (CNOR).
