Job Summary:

The sleep center at the University of Colorado Hospital is seekingapplicants for a full-time board-certified or board eligible sleepmedicine physician. We are a multi-disciplinary sleep groupfocusing on providing comprehensive and state-of-the-art care to adiverse population, and there are tremendous opportunities to be apart of a growing academic program.

The sleep center is a part of the Comprehensive Lungs and BreathingProgram, which allows practitioners to work within a collaborativeenvironment with related subspecialties. We currently have a 4-bedin-laboratory facility and a robust home sleep testing program.There are plans for continued growth of both the in-laboratory andhome testing facilities, and this is an excellent opportunity to bea part of a program with rapid growth potential.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time ofhire.

This is an open rank position and could be categorized as AssistantProfessor or Associate Professor based on experience andqualifications as indicated below:

Assistant Professor :

  • Medical degree (MD/DO) from an accredited School ofMedicine
  • Board certified or board eligible in Sleep Medicine
  • Completion of a Sleep Fellowship (ACGME accredited)
  • Ability to obtain license to practice as a physician in theState of Colorado with prescriptive privileges by the time ofhire
  • Completion of Sleep Medicine accredited training with anappropriate medical specialty

Associate Professor :

  • Medical degree (MD/DO) from an accredited School ofMedicine
  • Board certified or board eligible in Sleep Medicine
  • Completion of a Sleep Fellowship (ACGME accredited)
  • Ability to obtain license to practice as a physician in theState of Colorado with prescriptive privileges by the time ofhire
  • Completion of Sleep Medicine accredited training with anappropriate medical specialty
  • Current or past faculty appointment as an Assistant orAssociate Professor in an academic medical institution

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Appropriate background specialty prior to sleep medicinetraining
  • Prior experience in the development of a sleep center in anacademic setting
  • Accomplishment in basic, clinical, health services,translational, or educational research
  • General Internal Medicine knowledge and skills

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of standard inpatient and outpatient clinicaloperations and procedures
  • Ability to work independently, as well as serving as a teammember
  • Skilled in the use of and EMR for patient charting and allstandard office software
  • Ability to develop collaborative or independent researchprojects
  • Ability to provide educational knowledge and skills to variouslearners
  • Excellent communication skills to interact with learners,faculty, healthcare teams, administrators, community organizations,and donors

Anticipated Pay Range:

The starting salary range ( or hiring range ) for thisposition has been established as HIRING RANGE:

Assistant Professor: $94,668 to $300,000

Associate Professor: $105,180 to $350,000

The above salary range ( or hiring range ) represents theUniversity's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range ofpossible compensation at the time of posting. This position is noteligible for overtime compensation unless it is non-exempt.
