Job Summary

The Division of Pulmonary, Allergy, and Critical Care Medicine seeks full‑time faculty at various ranks to teach medical and graduate students, mentor residents and fellows, and contribute to research and education.

Key Responsibilities

  • Clinical outpatient consultations
  • Inpatient consultations, including day and night service in the Medical ICU
  • Share on‑call responsibilities with other clinical faculty to provide 24/7 coverage
  • Participate in the education of medical students, residents, fellows, and other learners
  • Engage in the academic mission of the Division and develop a robust research program in any of the pillar areas

Work Location

Onsite – Anschutz Campus, CO.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Board eligibility or certification in Pulmonary Science or Critical Care Medicine
  • Completion of Pulmonary Sciences or Internal Medicine Fellowship (ACGME accredited)
  • Ability to obtain license to practice as a physician in Colorado with prescriptive privileges by time of hire
  • Medical Degree from an accredited school of medicine
  • Experience: 0–2 years for Senior Instructor; 2–4 years for Assistant Professor; 4+ years for Associate Professor; 7+ years for Professor
  • Previous faculty appointment for Associate and Professor ranks (Assistant or Associate Professor)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong interest in the development of Pulmonary Sciences or Critical Care Medicine in a community setting
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills
  • General internal medicine knowledge base, advanced lung disease and critical illness–related specialized knowledge and skills
  • Background in Pulmonary Medicine, Intensive Care, or a subspecialty

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Knowledge of standard inpatient and outpatient clinical operations and procedures
  • Knowledge of diagnosis of disorders and diseases of the lungs
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member
  • Skill in the use of an EMR for patient charting and standard office software
  • Ability to develop collaborative or independent research projects
  • Ability to provide educational knowledge and skills to various learners

Anticipated Pay Range

  • Instructor: $85,000 to $150,000
  • Senior Instructor: $90,000 to $200,000
  • Assistant Professor: $94,668 to $275,000
  • Associate Professor: $105,180 to $300,000
  • Professor: $140,028 to $450,000
