Salary Details A minimum of $108,000

The Doctor of Physical Therapy Program in the School of Health Professions ( SHP ) at Rutgers University is pleased to invite applications for a full-time faculty position. Entering its 48th year of physical therapy education, Rutgers is proud of its heritage and national reputation for excellence in teaching, research, scholarship, and service to its urban community and the physical therapy professional community. The program thrives with over 20 faculty who collectively have expertise across all areas of clinical practice and administration, are effective educators, and innovators of service-based learning. Mentorship of new faculty is provided by core faculty. We are seeking a physical therapist with expertise in one or more of the following areas: Exercise Science, Cardiopulmonary PT, and Acute Care PT (Integumentary), Student success, and curriculum design.

SHP is one of eight schools that are part of Rutgers Health, the premier health sciences institution in New Jersey. The Physical Therapy Program is housed within the SHP Department of Rehabilitation and Movement Sciences, which includes an Occupational Therapy Doctoral degree program and a Master’s degree Speech-Language Pathology program. Our faculty are national and global leaders in their fields. With all three programs housed within the Department of Rehabilitation and Movement Sciences there are wonderful opportunities for student interprofessional education and faculty collaborative research and scholarship.
The preferred candidate for this 12-month position should at the minimum have a Physical Therapy degree. Preference will be given to those with an academic doctoral degree or who are completing an academic doctoral degree. Preference will be given to a physical therapist with some experience in an education program. The position requires excellent interpersonal and written skills.

Required Qualifications
- Entry level doctoral degree. Candidates with a terminal degree or currently enrolled in a post-professional doctorate program are preferred.
- Teaching experience at the college/university level preferred.
- A minimum of 4 years of clinical experience required.
- Experience in scholarly activity preferred.
Faculty Members must be appropriately credentialed, possess earned degrees from an accredited institution and be licensed or license-eligible in NJ to teach in the DPT program.
Physical Demands and Work Environment This job involves both classroom teaching and teaching psychomotor skills in laboratories. Lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling equipment will occur. Hands‑on guarding of students learning mobility skills and lifting and transferring of students or faculty role playing as patients will occur. Teaching at clinical sites may occur. Site visits to clinical affiliation sites and travel to other Rutgers or affiliates campuses will occur.
