GIS Systems Analyst/ProgrammerHybrid Positions – 2 Days onsiteLocation: Houston, TXDuration: 8 MonthsRequired Skills: GIS Experience - ESRI Product (ArcGIS/ArcPro) FME, XML, Python, OR .NET Programming SQLHigh Level Job Description/Scope: GIS Systems Analyst/Engineer is a technical resource for GIS Cross Platform, specializing in GIS systems including SDE, spatial data standards and FME Server/Desktop. Depending upon the need, this role is involved in GIS system interfaces and integration, conversions/upgrades, extensions, development, etc. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of GIS experience and a working knowledge of Safe Software’s FME products for spatial ETL (Extract, Transform, Load), geospatial software and databases, geoprocessing tools, and automating tasks using software and scripting.
Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:Developing GIS applications and automating geoprocessing workflows using existing software applications or scripting using.Net (C#, ASP), Arc Objects, Python, ArcPyDeveloping and maintaining complex FME workbenches and a FME Server infrastructureProgramming using the REST API, Map Services, WMS, and building web app solutionsDeveloping and maintaining flexible, extensible ddl, stored procedures, triggers, views, etc. (AzureSDE)Creating ERD’s and normalizing data/Architecture DiagramUsing ESRI Product (ArcGIS/ArcPro) managing GIS layers and Feature ClassesUnderstanding and configuring Portal for ArcGIS, including IIS or higher for the AGS web-based interface, and AGS security management.Creating Map Documents (APRX) with required symbolization, labeling and scale dependency, and Map ServicesCreating high quality system support, technical and programming documentation, and providing training courses on solutions to internal business customers as well as contributing towards the team processing knowledge.Understanding, gathering and documenting business and functional requirements and developing solutions to meet those requirements and determine required project deliverables (e.g. technical requirements, effort estimates, etc.)Follow Chevon IT GIS and Agile methodologies, design and code review processes, standards and architectural review requirements.Providing timely reporting on project deliverables to Product Lead including the identification of risks and mitigations, issues impacting the project schedule, changes in deliverable scope, etc.Assisting with application/system deployment, integrations, conversions, upgrades and supportPerforming data quality and assurance checksClearly communicating (i.e., written and verbal)Competencies Required:Proficiency utilizing FME Desktop and FME Server to perform ETL processes from a variety of data sources for geospatial raster and vector data processing and analysis.Writing Queries for AZURE SQLDevelop GIS applications using Web App Builder for ArcGISFamiliarity with Agile Framework, Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipeline, conceptsExperience programming using HTML,.NET, Python, ArcPyWebservice development using C# with.Net frameworkGood Knowledge on ArcGIS server/Portal for ArcGIS and its services. Required (Basic)Required Qualification:5+ years of experience of GIS industry as GIS programmer.5+ years of experience utilizing FME, XML, Python,.NET technologies with knowledge of best standards in usability and user-centric design.5+ years’ experience working with relational data and RDBMS such as Azure SQL. Skilled with SQL, and stored procedures, and data architecture best practices.Basic Business Analyst skills and related experience (e.g., requirements gathering, system documentation)5+ years’ experience with system integration, acquisition and migration of applications/systems to new platforms and operating environments.Desired Qualification:FME certified professionalExperience with web app interfaces such as GeoEvent Server and ESRI ArcGIS Online
