Hartford Healthcare seeks an Oncology Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant to provide compassionate, evidence-based care to adult oncology patients. In this role, you’ll conduct assessments, manage chemotherapy and supportive treatments, coordinate multidisciplinary care, and participate in survivorship and palliative care planning. You’ll collaborate closely with oncologists, nurses, and allied professionals, using cutting-edge technology to deliver high-quality care. Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive oncology-focused histories and physical exams
  • Order, interpret, and act on diagnostic tests and imaging
  • Develop and manage chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and symptom-management plans under collaborative agreements
  • Prescribe medications and supportive treatments per scope and protocols
  • Monitor treatment response, manage toxicities, and adjust care plans
  • Provide patient and family education on diagnosis, treatment options, and side effects
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary care with physicians, nurses, social work, and other specialists
  • Participate in tumor boards, care conferences, and quality improvement initiatives
  • Document care in the electronic health record with accuracy and timeliness
  • Contribute to survivorship, palliative, and end-of-life care planning
  • Oncology clinical assessment

Requirements

  • Current RN license and APRN license or PA-C certification (state-eligible)
  • National board certification as an APRN (AGACNP, AGPCNP, FNP) or NCCPA for PAs
  • Oncology nursing or advanced oncology certification (e.g., AOCNP) preferred
  • Current BLS and ACLS certification
  • Experience in hematology/oncology, inpatient oncology, or related acute care strongly preferred
