Responsibilities
- Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with oncologic and hematologic disorders.
- Develop individualized treatment plans in consultation with patients and care teams.
- Administer and oversee chemotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapy, and other specialized treatments.
- Interpret diagnostic tests, including laboratory, imaging, and pathology results.
- Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, prognosis, and treatment options.
- Actively participate in multidisciplinary case discussions and tumor boards.
- Collaborate with other specialists, nurses, and support staff to coordinate comprehensive care.
- Participate in research, quality improvement, and educational initiatives as appropriate.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and institutional regulations.
Qualifications
- Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree.
- Board Certification in Medical Oncology and Hematology.
- Active and unrestricted NY State Medical License (or eligibility).
- Completion of an accredited fellowship in Medical Oncology & Hematology.
- Proven track record of clinical excellence in outpatient and inpatient settings.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to continuing education and evidence-based practice.
- Additional languages highly preferred, especially Haitian Creole.
