Jackson & Coker is seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible Oncologist for a locum tenens opportunity in California, starting August 3rd and continuing ongoing. This role involves providing general oncology care in an outpatient clinic setting, with a focus on managing a diverse patient panel. The position offers a consistent schedule and the chance to work with a supportive team while a permanent physician is being recruited.
Practice Info
- Setting: Outpatient clinic
- Types of cases: General Oncology, with Breast composing 30% of the oncology volume, followed by Prostate at 15%, with OB/GYN, lung, and colorectal each comprising approximately 10–13%
- Patients per day: 2 oncology consults, 1 hematology consult, 12–16 follow-ups
- Admissions per day: 0–1
- No induction therapies, bi-specifics, or BMT/Car-T performed
- Support staff includes scheduler, clinical supervisor, medical assistant, nurse navigation, social work, triage RN, and infusion RNs
- EMR: OncoEMR (outpatient), Cerner (inpatient charting, lab results, DI results)
Responsibilities
- Order and interpret diagnostic testing including blood work, biopsies, and imaging
- Analyze biopsy results and collaborate with pathology
- Order chemotherapy and immunotherapies using NCCN, UpToDate, and Micromedex

Requirements
- Board Certified Oncology - highly preferred
- Board Eligible accepted if newly out of residency
- Active California state license
- Fellowship in Hematology or Oncology
- BLS
- DEA
- Medicare Eligible Provider
