Role Overview

Will train and coach Federal government/military personnel in individual or group settings to develop mental skills necessary for peak performance. The role includes techniques to overcome mental barriers, build mental toughness, improve well‑being and resilience, and apply evidence‑based literature to trainer education on goal setting, visualization, energy management, attention sustainment, sleep management, and overall human performance optimization.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide coaching and training to personnel in individual or group settings – 50%
• Conduct individual and group assessments (observation, data collection, interviews, consultations with leaders) to customize performance programs – 20%
• Attend staff meetings with interdisciplinary teams and government leadership – 10%
• Provide expert guidance on mental performance, exercise science, and sport psychology – 10%
• Develop customized curriculum to support human performance outcomes – 10%

Job Requirements

• Master's degree in Kinesiology, Exercise Science, Sport Psychology, Human Performance, or closely related field
• 3+ years of experience as a Mental Performance Coach designing and implementing mental skills development programs for individuals and groups
• Experience delivering training and education in various settings, including in‑person and virtual modalities
• Capability to work outdoors for extended periods in all weather
• Willingness to travel up to 10% of time
• U.S. Citizenship
• Proficient use of computers, software, and technologies for documentation
• Preferred: CMPC – Certified Mental Performance Consultant

Salary and Benefits

Salary Range: $53,125 – $84,995. Eligible for short‑term incentives and a comprehensive benefits package.
