Role Description The OMFS Associate will provide full-scope oral and maxillofacial surgical care, including consultations, diagnosis, treatment planning, and surgical procedures such as extractions, implants, pathology, and trauma-related care, as appropriate to training and practice focus. Day-to-day responsibilities include seeing patients in clinic, performing surgeries in-office and in affiliated hospital or surgery center settings as needed, managing pre- and post-operative care, and maintaining accurate, compliant clinical documentation. The associate will collaborate with other oral surgeons, referring dentists, physicians, and clinical staff to ensure coordinated, high-quality care. Participation in practice meetings, quality improvement efforts, and continuing education is expected. This is a full-time, on-site role located in Hawthorne, NY.

Qualifications

  • Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) from an accredited institution, with completion of an accredited Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency program.
  • Current, unrestricted license (or eligibility for licensure) to practice dentistry and oral and maxillofacial surgery in the state of New York; board certification or board eligibility in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in core OMFS procedures, including dentoalveolar surgery, implant placement, management of impacted teeth, and routine anesthesia/sedation within scope of practice.
  • Experience with management of medical histories, treatment planning, and interprofessional communication with referring providers and medical specialists.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust with patients and work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Commitment to evidence-based practice, patient safety, and adherence to infection control, regulatory, and ethical standards.
  • Comfort with electronic health records, digital imaging, and modern practice management systems; willingness to adapt to new technologies and workflows.
  • Prior experience in private practice or group practice oral surgery settings is beneficial, as is interest in practice growth, community outreach, and long-term association with the practice.
