To support the VA Northeast Ohio Healthcare System, the contracted to full-time Ohio Licensed Medical Records Coder will perform coding for various medical encounters, ensuring compliance with coding standards and documentation accuracy in a primarily remote work environment. Key responsibilities Perform coding of inpatient, outpatient, surgery, and diagnostic testing encounters while assigning appropriate codes Review medical records for completeness and accuracy, submitting provider queries when necessary Participate in coding audits and maintain coding accuracy standards, preparing quality assurance reports Required qualifications Active credential from AHIMA or AAPC (e.g., RHIT, RHIA, CCS, CPC) Minimum of two years of continuous coding experience in a Level 1A VA Medical Center or equivalent facility Proficiency in ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems Experience with Oracle Health and Solventum CRS Encoder Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and documentation review techniques
