OffbearerStockton, CACompensation IncludesStarting pay rate of $25.06/hour - paid weeklyShifts Available2nd: 3:00pm - 11:30pm3rd: 11:00pm - 7:30pmMonday - Friday, Saturdays as neededResponsibilitiesPicks up the required lanes of cut and printed blanks from the press delivery tableDuring normal job duties inspects for obvious cutting or printing defects. Notifies operator when defects are presentStacks blanks on a pallet to the required heightWraps full pallet with stretch wrap and places completed load tag on the palletMoves full pallets of blanks with manual pallet jack or electric pallet jack to material handling staging areaKeeps work area cleanAssists with the Make Ready per make ready process documentationAssist with machine maintenance and cleaningWhen inspector is performing required documentation, the off bearer is required to catch the entire table for short periods of timeWorks as directed by his/her seniorPerforms other related duties to contribute to the success of the operation as assigned by supervision such as strapping loads, emptying bids or stacking empty palletsQualificationsEDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: High School diploma or GED or equivalent experience. Previous experience in a manufacturing environment helpful but not necessaryMATHEMATICAL SKILLS: No special math skills required.

Needs to be able to countMECHANICAL SKILLS: Basic knowledge of machinery and common tools is necessaryCOMMUNICATION SKILLS: Must be able to read and write. Needs to be able to communicate quality problems to the operator and/or supervisorREASONING ABILITY: Must be able to understand machine specific operating instructions and processes. This is necessary to ensure quality standards are met and the employee's own personal safety is maintained (as well as the safety of co-workers)Physical DemandsEmployee is required to stand while performing the essential duties of this job.Pile down handfuls of blanks weighing between 10 and 20 pounds on a consistent basisRequires hand and finger dexterity to keep pace with the speed of the press as it produces blanksRepetitive movement of hands, fingers, arms and shouldersRepetitive twistingFrequent bending to stack blanks on a palletLift and handle press equipment dies weighing up to 100 pounds with the assistance of other members of the press crew on an occasional basisLift and carry 5-gallon ink pails weighing up to 50 pounds on an occasional basisAssist in lifting cylinders weighing up to 150 pounds using mechanical hoists on an occasional basisAssist in lifting press rollers and stripper shells weighing up to 100 pounds on an occasional basis with help from the press crewWork EnvironmentNormal indoor conditions with the exception of summer months when heat become a factorHearing protection required as machinery noise is commonly in the 80-95 dBA rangeDaily exposure to nuisance paper dust, ink, hydraulic fluid, machine oil, grease and occasional fumes and vapors such as ammonia, alcohol, combustion gasesSafety shoes and safety glasses, hair nets & beard nets are required in manufacturing areas
