Novant Health Coastal Region is seeking a board-certified oculoplastic surgeon to perform plastic and reconstructive surgery on the eyelids, orbit (eye socket), tear ducts, and surrounding midface, addressing both functional issues (droopy lids, tumors, injuries, blocked tear ducts) and cosmetic concerns (wrinkles, sagging), requiring expertise in delicate eye anatomy, surgical reconstruction, and often minor cosmetic procedures like Botox or fillers.

What We're Looking For

Novant Health Coastal Region is seeking a board-certified oculoplastic surgeon to perform plastic and reconstructive surgery on the eyelids, orbit (eye socket), tear ducts, and surrounding midface, addressing both functional issues (droopy lids, tumors, injuries, blocked tear ducts) and cosmetic concerns (wrinkles, sagging), requiring expertise in delicate eye anatomy, surgical reconstruction, and often minor cosmetic procedures like Botox or fillers.

Candidate Qualifications

  • Ophthalmologists (MD/DO) with additional fellowship training in oculofacial plastic and reconstructive surgery.
  • Valid, unrestricted state medical license.
  • Strong clinical skills, steady hands, and excellent communication.

Responsibilities & Duties

  • Surgical Procedures: Performing eyelid lifts (blepharoplasty), brow lifts, tear duct surgery (dacryocystorhinostomy), orbital fracture repair, and reconstruction after skin cancer removal.
  • Tumor Management: Diagnosing and surgically removing benign or malignant tumors from eyelids, orbits, and the face.
  • Trauma Repair: Reconstructing damage from injuries to the eye area.
  • Cosmetic Treatments: Offering non-surgical options like botox, fillers, and collagen injections, plus cosmetic eyelid surgery.
  • Functional Eye Care: Treating conditions like ptosis (droopy eyelid), entropion (inward-turning lids), and ectropion (outward-turning lids).
