nPosition Summary:
nThe Occupational Therapist (OT) is responsible to make a compelling difference in the lives of our residents providing excellence and innovation in aging services. As part of the interdisciplinary team the OT promotes and maintains the functional performance, physical mobility and well being of the residents through the implementation of occupational therapy services.
nEssential Responsibilities:

Develop, establish goals, implement, evaluate and re-evaluate individualized occupational therapy treatment plans for WEL Residents at multiple sites (Pennypack Park and Doylestown).

Performs appropriate evaluations and treatment to residents including activities of daily living and range of motion exercises to improve residents ability.
n n - n
Use discharge planning skills to promote independence and maximize function .
n n - n
Demonstrates OT knowledge, skill and ability when developing systems, for planning, coordinating, evaluating, and implementing OT programs that ensure safe and efficient and therapeutically effective rehabilitation.

Instructs resident, families and other caregivers in the skills and techniques of the OT program.
n n - n
Supervises and directs Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants and Aides.
n n - n
Follow Universal Precautions, Infection Control and Safety policies.
n n - n
Maintain confidentiality relative to resident care and Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) Regulations.
n n - n
Communicates essential information to the interdisciplinary team in regard to resident care and progress.
n n - n
Ensure that residents and families enjoy the best possible service, in a caring and compassionate atmosphere where the individual’s needs and rights are recognized and respected.

Performs other duties as required.

Related Experience:
n- n
- n
Three to five years of experience in skilled nursing facility setting.
n n - n
Demonstrates sincere interest in working with frail senior participants.
n n - n
Demonstrates ability to work as part of the interdisciplinary team and make meaningful contributions to the development of the plan of care.
n n
Education or Degree Requirement:
n- n
- n
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from an accredited school of Occupational Therapy.
n n - n
Must be an occupational therapy curriculum accredited jointly by the American Occupational Therapy Association and certified by the American Occupational Therapy Association under its requirements.

Licenses, Certifications, Registrations:
n- n
- n
Must have current unrestricted licensed as required in the state of Pennsylvania.
n n - n
Must be registered with the American Occupational Therapy Certification Board.
n n
