Job Overview
Vanderbilt Tullahoma Harton Hospital seeks a Pediatric Occupational Therapist PRN to support both outpatient pediatric therapy and inpatient acute care services in a collaborative community hospital setting. This role offers a balanced mix of pediatric and adult care with a manageable caseload and strong interdisciplinary support.
Location & Schedule
- Vanderbilt Tullahoma‑Harton Hospital – Tullahoma, TN
- PRN two days per week (Tuesdays & Thursdays) 8:45 AM to 2:30 PM
Position Highlights
- Outpatient pediatric therapy (~80%): 45‑minute treatment sessions, average six patients per day, wide variety of pediatric diagnoses (excluding orthopedic cases).
- Inpatient adult acute care (~20%): consistent PRN schedule with flexibility, lower patient volume supporting quality patient care and work‑life balance.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide occupational therapy evaluation and treatment for pediatric outpatients and adult acute care patients.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, therapists and interdisciplinary teams to deliver coordinated care.
- Educate patients and families to support independence and functional outcomes.
- Supervise occupational therapy and occupational therapy assistant students after one year of experience.
- Provide clinical supervision and direction to certified occupational therapy assistants and technicians.
- Document patient care in accordance with hospital and regulatory standards.
- Report to the Director of Rehabilitation Services.
Qualifications
- Active Tennessee Occupational Therapist license.
- Experience in pediatrics, acute care, inpatient rehabilitation, skilled nursing, or relevant clinical rotations preferred.
- Strong communication skills and a patient‑centered approach.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
