About the Role
nThe Employee Health Nurse provides comprehensive occupational health services to support the health, safety, and well-being of employees. Responsibilities include:

Reviewing immunizations for compliance

Administering vaccines and medications
n n - n
Conducting employee health screenings
n n - n
Triaging workplace injuries
n n - n
Managing workplace exposures and coordinating follow-up care
n n - n
Supporting return-to-work and work-restriction processes
n n - n
Maintaining accurate and confidential employee health records
n n - n
Providing education on occupational health and safety
n n - n
Collaborating with Human Resources, Infection Prevention, Risk Management, Safety, and clinical leadership to promote a safe and healthy workplace

nSummary:
nMaintains an environment of safety for patients, self and others. Oversees daily clinical, clerical & administrative Occupational Health Services (OHS) functions while ensuring institutional & departmental compliance with applicable professional, regulatory & governmental standards. Demonstrates clinical nursing expertise and professional competency through the planning, implementation and management of programs that support the health, safety and well-being of clients. Actively participates in the attainment of Organization's strategic plan, goals and objectives.
nResponsibilities:
nOversees daily clinical, clerical & administrative Occupational Health Services (OHS) functions while ensuring institutional & departmental compliance with applicable professional, regulatory & governmental standards.
nConsistently and effectively coordinates the daily operations of occupational health programs & services - clinical, clerical and administrative functions - for area of responsibility/operating unit.
nCollaborates with the multidisciplinary team to foster the provision of effective health, safety and environmental services - anticipates changes and recommends and implements new policies and work improvement initiatives as indicated.
nDemonstrates an ethical decision making framework in all activities. Through personal and professional relationships, promotes OHS mission and values and fosters community integration.
nEnsures development and maintenance of confidential health records 100% of the time. Effectively coordinates provisions for employee compliance with regulatory requirements.

nDemonstrates clinical nursing expertise and professional competency through the planning, implementation and management of programs that support the health, safety and well-being of clients.
nDemonstrates expertise with provisions of the NC Workers' Compensation Act and serves as a case coordinator for all claims at operating unit.
nProcesses all client logs and associated documents in a timely and accurate manner and in accordance with insurance, legal and regulatory requirements.

nEducation Requirements:
n? Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
nLicensure/Certification Requirements:
n? Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of North Carolina.
n? BLS required.
nProfessional Experience Requirements:
n? Two years of hands-on clinical nursing experience.
nKnowledge/Skills/and Abilities Requirements:
n? Epidemiology/infection control, toxicology, industrial and environmental hygiene
