1:3 Remote Unrestricted Call Zero Deliveries Required Focused Inpatient Consult & Diagnostic Scope
Are you a Board Certified Maternal-Fetal Medicine Specialist seeking a high-yield subspecialty contract in northern New Jersey? A major medical center in Essex County is seeking a skilled MFM physician for a fourth-quarter locum assignment running from September 14 through December 31, 2026, with potential extension into 2027. Offering remote call coverage, zero delivery requirements, Epic EMR integration, and robust multidisciplinary team support, this role provides an ideal arrangement for a dedicated perinatologist.
The OpportunityStep into a collaborative tertiary hospital setting, managing high-risk obstetrical consultations and diagnostic interpretations alongside experienced MFM attendings and Advanced Practice Providers.
Clinical Scope: Lead inpatient perinatology consultations and diagnostic imaging, including:
Evaluating and managing complex, high-risk obstetric patients
Performing inpatient MFM consultations and daily rounding
Reading and interpreting detailed diagnostic obstetric ultrasounds
Performing diagnostic procedures, specifically amniocentesis
Providing appropriate clinical oversight for on-duty Advanced Practice Providers
Documenting care and entering orders via Epic EMR
The Schedule & Call Structure: Inpatient consult and vacation coverage structure with a 1 in 3 week unrestricted remote call rotation ( call is remote and does not require staying onsite ).
Delivery & Floating Obligations: Zero deliveries required. Zero floating between facilities.
Clinical Support Structure: Collaborative team environment working alongside 3 attending physicians, multidisciplinary OB/GYN and MFM specialists, and dedicated APP support.
Interested candidates must hold subspecialty board certification, an active New Jersey license, and verified MFM procedural capability.
Degree & Board Status: MD or DO; Board Certified (BC) in Maternal-Fetal Medicine.
Licensure: Active, unencumbered New Jersey State Medical License.
Clinical Skills: Advanced proficiency in reading/interpreting complex OB ultrasounds and performing amniocentesis procedures independently.
Technical Skills: Epic EMR proficiency preferred.
