Sanford Health is seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible Obstetrician/Gynecologist to join their specialty OB/GYN practice in Thief River Falls, Minnesota. This role offers an energetic and enthusiastic physician the opportunity to practice in a busy setting with a focus on both obstetrics and gynecology. The successful candidate will join a department with experienced physicians and a nurse practitioner, contributing to the health and healing mission of one of the largest not-for-profit health systems in the United States.

Practice Info

  • Department is currently made up of two experienced board certified physicians and one experienced nurse practitioner
  • Busy practice - 20-25 outpatients per weekday
  • Practice is approximately 50% obstetrics and 50% gynecology
  • Several family medicine physicians with the multi-specialty group practice also perform OB
  • 300-350 births per year
  • Block OR time available
  • Each OB/Gyn provider is assigned a nurse, office and two exam rooms

Responsibilities

  • Perform history and physical examination
  • Admit, evaluate, diagnose, consult and provide pre-, intra- and postoperative care necessary to correct or treat female patients of all ages presenting with injuries and disorders of the female reproductive system and the genitourinary system
  • Provide nonsurgical treatment for disorders and injuries of the mammary glands

Requirements

  • BC/BE Obstetric/Gynecologist
  • M.D. or D.O. degree
  • Successful completion of an Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency program accredited by the ACGME, the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the Royal College of Physician and Surgeons of Canada
  • Certification in the primary area of practice by the appropriate specialty/subspecialty board of the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS), the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, as applicable
  • If not board certified at the time of application but completed residency training within the last five years, must achieve board certification within five years from the date of completion of residency training
