Sutter Medical Group (SMG) is seeking a Board-Eligible or Board-Certified Obstetrician-Gynecologist to join Sutter Amador OB/GYN, a community-focused practice in California’s Sierra Foothills. This primarily obstetrics-focused role serves an appreciative and underserved patient population at Sutter Amador Hospital, a 53-bed rural hospital known for its exceptional labor & delivery nursing team. Practice Info

  • Join Sutter Amador OB/GYN, a close-knit, community-focused practice.
  • Primarily obstetrics-focused role serving an appreciative and underserved patient population.
  • Practice at Sutter Amador Hospital, a 53-bed rural hospital.
  • Low-acuity OB practice averaging 20–25 deliveries per month.
  • Minimal on-site subspecialty services (no NICU, MFM, or Urology), with strong referral relationships to nearby Sutter tertiary care centers.
  • Physicians rotate 1–2 days per month at Sutter Medical Center Sacramento to maintain clinical skills and tertiary-care exposure.

Responsibilities

  • Provide care in a primarily obstetrics-focused role.
  • Grow and shape the GYN surgical program.
  • Participate in graduate medical education, teaching OB/GYN residents and Family Medicine residents in a rural residency track.

Compensation

  • Generous call pay - on top of salary.
  • Sign-on bonus of up to $50,000.
  • Relocation assistance of up to $20,000.
  • Resident stipend up to $3,000 per month while in residency for up to 24 months.
  • Forgivable loan of up to $200,000.
  • PSLF eligible.

Shift & Schedule

  • Call Schedule (1:3 Ratio).
  • Weekday Call: Tuesday–Thursday, two weeks per month (6 days total).
  • Weekend Call: Friday–Monday, one weekend per month (4 days total).
  • Total: 10 call days per month.

  • Board-certified/eligible OB/GYN Physician.
  • J-1 waiver and H-1B visa sponsorship available.
