The Department of Anesthesiology and Critical Care at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seekscandidates for several Associate or Full Professor positions in thenon-tenure academic clinician track. Applicants must have an M.D.or M.D./Ph.D. or equivalent degree. ABA certification inanesthesiology, the equivalent, or status as a candidate in theexamination system along with ability to obtain a Pennsylvanialicense are required. Fellowship training in obstetricanesthesiology and/or extensive experience providing obstetricanesthesia care (ideally three years ) is strongly preferred.Applicants in mid-career are encouraged to apply. Rank will becommensurate with experience.
Teaching responsibilities may include the instruction of medicalstudents, residents, and fellows rotating through the operatingrooms of the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania (HUP) andthe Penn Presbyterian Medical Center (PPMC) as well asparticipation in lectures, small groups, workshops, and/orsimulation sessions.
Clinical responsibilities may include the provision of obstetricalanesthesia care at HUP as well as the provision of anesthesia carein the operating rooms and non-operating room anesthesia proceduralareas at HUP, PPMC, Penn Medicine University City, and otherlocations staffed by the Department of Anesthesiology and CriticalCare.
Additional responsibilities may include serving on Departmentcommittees and serving in administrative leadership positions, asappropriate.
The academic clinician track emphasizes clinical and teachingexcellence.
