Concrete Worker
The worker may be new to concrete or have experience in concrete construction. Those with experience have a solid understanding of the fundamentals of formwork. While general job duties are expected to be completed as needed, this position is expert in using all associated power tools, can set and remove forms, place concrete, and operate motorized equipment. More experienced workers are experts in measurement, critical thinking, and problem-solving, particularly with custom forms, reinforcements, and elevation/leveling. Effective communication with field leaders, team members, and other trades is expected, as well as demonstrated motivation for continuous growth and development.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform construction site work safely, including the use of power tools and hand tools.
- Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including a hard hat, high-visibility clothing, and additional protection as required by the project.
- Assist in the preparation of work areas, making and placing forms, placing concrete while maintaining a clean, safe, and well-organized worksite.
- Work in a variable environment, both indoors and outdoors. When necessary, work during inclement weather, including extreme heat or cold.
- Communicate effectively with your team leader, foreman, and superintendent about safety, ask questions, and solve problems.

Experience, Education, and Qualifications Required
- Must provide personal tools such as steel-toe work boots, rubber boots, shovels, a hammer, tape measure, and a multi-purpose utility knife
- Must have reliable transportation to work(s) location(s).
- Ability to pass drug screening.
- Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and in the future.
Education and Experience Preferred
- 6-12 months, or more, of construction experience.
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30

Work Environment/Physical Demand
This position functions in a typical construction site environment. This position requires long periods of standing and must be able to lift 80 pounds.
Type of Position, Travel, and Expected Work Hours
This is a full-time field position requiring travel to job sites in West Michigan. Typical hours will range from 45 to 50+ per week and are subject to change. This role requires working atypical days and irregular hours based on construction schedules.
