- 12-hour shifts -- days 7 am - 7 pm or nights 7 pm - 7 am
- 12 guaranteed hours per day; 7 - 14 shifts per month
- 5 - 10 patients per shift
- OB/Gyn hospitalist role -- labor, antepartum, and postpartum unit
- High-volume unit averaging 7,280 deliveries per year
- Low and high-risk OB patient management required
- Procedures: c-section, VBAC, amniocentesis, surgical gynecology
- FHR interpretation, OB ultrasounds, and laceration repair required
