The Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Science at Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) is seeking Nocturnists to join their team at Mount Sinai West. This role offers the professional benefits of a major academic/research medical center, with opportunities for career development and an academic appointment to the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. Nocturnists will provide in-house obstetrical physician coverage and clinical supervision for a diverse patient population.

Practice Info

  • The Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Science consists of over 40 full-time and voluntary board-certified physicians.
  • The department supports 24 residents in a four-year residency program.
  • An active teaching program for third-year medical students from the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai is in place.
  • All OB/Gyn sub-specialties are represented in the Department.
  • The department handles over 6,000 deliveries per year.

Responsibilities

  • Provide in-house obstetrical physician coverage.
  • Provide clinical supervision/oversight for patients on the Labor floor.
  • Cover and supervise the care of private/faculty/resident and midwife patients.
  • Serve as the attending for residents and midwives (backup).
  • Triage emergencies and supervise the care of unregistered patients.
  • Directly work with residents and medical students in labor and delivery, the operating room, and inpatient wards for admitted Obstetrical patients as the attending physicians.

Compensation

  • Compensation range from $300K to $330K (not including bonuses/incentive compensation or benefits).
  • Salary range listed is for full-time employment and does not include bonuses/incentive compensation or benefits.

Shift & Schedule

  • Work rotating day, night, and weekend shifts.

Requirements

  • Board Certified, experienced Obstetrician.
  • Possess clinical abilities as demonstrated through training, education, certification, and experience.
  • Strong interpersonal communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Embrace the teaching mission of Mount Sinai West and the MSHS.
  • Qualify for an academic appointment to the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai.
  • Must have or be able to obtain a valid New York State Medical License.
