OB/GYN Physician

Southern Ohio Medical Center (SOMC) is seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible OB/GYN to join their well-established, hospital-employed OB/GYN Associates team. This opportunity offers a 2-year contract with a comprehensive compensation and benefits package, including loan repayment and a sign-on bonus. The role involves working in a high-volume clinic setting with a supportive team and opportunities for teaching.

Practice Info

• Practice location is SOMC OB/GYN Associates - 1735 27th Street, Waller Bldg, Suite 202, Portsmouth, OH 45662.
• The team includes Dr. Darren Adams (Chief of OB/GYN), Dr. Ryan Sandlin, Dr. Arrika Mains, Dr. Allison Hamilton Bentley, Dr. Gregory Karasik, Laine Young, NP, Tiffany Harris, CNM, Tori Howell, NP, and Elisa Lang, PA.
• Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) also service Waverly, West Union, Ironton, and Vanceburg locations.
• There is 1 nurse chaperone per provider and 1 Office Manager.
• The average case load is 25 patients/day and 4-6 hospital procedures/day.
• Office procedures include Colposcopy, IUD insertion and removals, and Biopsies; Hospital procedures include DX Laparoscopy, Hysterectomy, D&C, Ablations, Tubal Ligations, Cesareans, and use of the Intuitive DaVinci Robot.

Responsibilities

• Call for your own patients throughout the week until 5:00p.
• Participate in 1:5 weekend and holiday call.
• Perform circumcisions in the nursery.
• Work in a high volume clinic.

Compensation

• Excellent bonus incentives up to 10% of salary.
• Medical School Loan Repayment: repay up to $200,000 ($25,000 per year for each year of service commitment).
• Residency Stipend: up to $25,000 (requires up to 2 year service commitment).
• Sign on Bonus: 15% of base salary up to $100,000 (paid when contract signed and forgiven over 2-4 years).
• Eligible to earn additional compensation by joining our CERP (Pay for Call) Program.

• CME/Books & Journals: 5 days PTO and up to $5000.
• Deferred compensation: 457b plan (defer compensation up to IRS limit of $24,500 year before taxes, no matching).
• Retirement / Savings Plan: 403b plan (defer compensation up to IRS limit of $24,500 year before taxes under age 50 and $31,000 for over age 50; SOMC matches dollar for dollar up to 2% of base pay).
• Moving Expense: $10,000 paid to moving company.
• Malpractice Insurance Coverage: in a claims made insurance, in an amount of $2,000,000 per claim/$6,000,000 aggregate.
• Health Insurance: physician pays small premium, deducted from paycheck.
• Teaching opportunities: SOMC has Medical Students, Residents, and Advanced Practitioner trainees; staff are eligible for Clinical Adjunct Faculty status with Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine.

Shift & Schedule

• Monday - Thursday 8:00a - 5:00p / Friday 8:00a - 12:00p.
• 1:5 Weekend and holiday call.

• Employment is contingent upon passing the post-offer physical examination, drug screen, and criminal background investigation.
