Carilion Clinic and the Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine are seeking a full-time Academic Specialist in General Obstetrics and Gynecology to join their growing team in Roanoke, VA. This role involves a full spectrum general obstetric and gynecologic practice within a community-based academic environment at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. The successful candidate will contribute to medical education and provide care to nearly one million people throughout southwestern Virginia.

- Carilion Medical Center is located on the outskirts of Roanoke's vibrant Downtown District.
- OB/GYN clinics are conveniently located in modern office buildings near Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital, as well as in the communities of Roanoke, Salem, Botetourt, and Franklin County.
- The department includes 19 other OB/GYN physicians and 9 Advanced Clinical Practitioners.
- Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital is a 763-bed academic/tertiary care hospital with Virginia State-designated Level 1 Trauma Center and Level III Nursery.
- Carilion Clinic is a physician-led, multi-specialty healthcare organization and the largest nonprofit integrated health system in southwest Virginia with 7 hospitals, 248 physician practice sites, 800+ physicians representing more than 80 specialties, and 29 ACGME programs.
- The OB/GYN Section includes Academic Specialists in OB/GYN, Maternal Fetal Medicine, Gynecologic Oncology, and Urogynecology.
Responsibilities
- Have a full spectrum general obstetric and gynecologic practice in a community-based academic environment.
- Provide medical education to residents and students.
Compensation
- Position includes a base salary that is augmented with additional compensation for meeting quality measures and productivity targets.
- Incentive Pay: Yes, Base Salary plus two-tier Bonus Plan.
- Relocation Paid: Yes, Allowance.

Requirements
- Excellent clinical skills and enthusiasm for medical education of residents and students.
- MD or DO.
- Board-certified or be an active candidate for certification by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
- Eligible for medical licensure in Virginia.
