Nursing Supervisor

Job Purpose & Duties

The RN Supervisor provides nursing oversight and delegation of resident care in a CBRF and/or RCAC setting with supervisory responsibility of the Resident Services Assistants.

• Supervises nursing care and completes documentation of care delivered to residents of Attic Angel Place to ensure it is consistent with the facility’s mission and values and per DHS 83 and 89 regulations.
• Develops an individualized service plan for residents with varying stages of memory loss and clinical needs. Participates in meetings with residents and families on request and per DHS 83 and 89.
• Maintains accurate medical records and assessments, as well as prompt follow up or delegation of resident clinical needs.
• Supervisions of Resident Services Assistant and Medication Administration Assistants including direct observation, RN delegation, counseling, education, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions.
• Immediate reporting of abuse, neglect, or any reportable event to the Resident Services RN Manager and Campus Executive Director.
• Participates in and may lead facility disaster, fire, and/or other drills per DHS 83 or 89 regulations.
• Assists with pre‑employment interviews, hiring, and onboarding of new Resident Services Assistants as directed.
• Develops and maintains effective working relationships with residents, families, employees, volunteers and the general public.
• Communicates with shift supervisors, managers, and the Campus Executive Director regarding issues, concerns, problems and questions impacting the organization, employees and/or quality of care provided to residents.
• Assists with resident care or medication administration to assure adequate coverage to meet resident needs.
• Provides guidance, modeling, and education/training to Resident Assistants.
• Engages in ongoing continual education and training on dementia care.
• Follows and implements proper infection control procedures relative to residents and staff according to community policy.
• Meets the goals and objectives that are consistent with the values and mission of Attic Angel Place and the continuous quality improvement process.
• Exemplifies professional conduct, maintaining confidentiality at all times.
• Participates in an on‑call rotation with other RN Supervisors, shift supervisors and managers, which includes weekend coverage during each on‑call period.

Hours

08:00 am – 4:30 pm, full‑time, 40 hours a week. On‑call rotation once every eight weeks for one week (required to work that weekend).

Education & Experience

Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Wisconsin. At least five years of experience, preferably in a geriatric setting that includes supervisory and/or management experience. Requires strong knowledge of dementia care.

• Exhibits a sincere desire to work with older adults and has a growing understanding of the aging process and memory loss.
• Excellent written, oral, public speaking, listening and non‑verbal communication skills.
• Works independently with little supervision and is sensitive to the needs of many constituents, using sound judgment and diplomacy in the performance of duties.
• Knowledge of employee relations, ethics and safety.
