Senior Human Resources Professional at Montefiore Health System

Responsible for developing, coordinating, managing, executing, and organizing infection prevention-related quality and performance improvement activities at Montefiore Medical Center.

This Manager of Infection Prevention and Control maintains standards of practice for Infection Prevention as defined by the program’s Standard Operating Procedures, regulatory agencies, and national standards.

This position is accountable, with the Nursing Director, for the overall management of the infection prevention and control program across all sites, including supervision of processes and leadership for special projects to ensure quality care and patient safety.

It involves collaboration with the Infection Prevention Committee, setting standards based on evidence, evaluating compliance, and leading performance improvement efforts to prevent hospital-acquired infections and exposures. The role also includes consulting with the Hospital Epidemiologist and participating in regional and national initiatives, research, and implementing informatics solutions.

Education/Skills

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, Public Health, Epidemiology, or related field.
• Three years of experience.
• New York State Registered Nurse License and current registration.
• Certification in Infection Control (CIC) preferred.
• Experience in infection prevention/control and clinical performance improvement required.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, critical thinking, and analytical skills.
• Commitment to professional development.
• Management skills for organizing and evaluating infection prevention activities.
• Computer literacy; experience with EPIC, NHSN, Excel, PowerPoint, Word preferred.
