Nursing Laboratory Educational Assistant

The Nursing Laboratory Educational Assistant collaborates with faculty to assist the undergraduate associate degree nursing students to develop nursing skills and clinical judgment in the nursing laboratory. The educational assistant schedules students to practice skills in an open lab, manages lab supplies, and remediates skills for students to meet learning outcomes. The nursing laboratory assistant plays a pivotal role in shaping the practical competence and professional development of future nurses, preparing them to deliver safe and effective patient care in clinical settings.

Minimum Qualifications

Master's degree in Nursing with two (2) years of clinical nursing experience. An active CT license as a registered nurse.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Understanding of nursing simulation methodologies
  • Demonstrated proficiency in guiding students through the bridge between theoretical knowledge and clinical application
  • Ability to manage the operational complexities of a high-volume laboratory, including inventory oversight and policy implementation
  • Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds, including individuals with disabilities
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Teaching experience with RN students in an academic or clinical setting
Salary
  • $52.35 hourly
