Nursing Home Regional Medical Director

Overview

The Nursing Home Regional Medical Director is an important member of the healthcare team in a nursing home, responsible for overall coordination of care and implementation of policies related to the residents in a nursing home. The role provides strategic direction, medical leadership, and ensures delivery of high‑quality employee and patient care.

Responsibilities

• Provide medical expertise and guidance to the organization
• Develop and implement clinical policies and procedures
• Supervise medical staff and ensure compliance with JCAHO standards
• Conduct research to improve patient outcomes and quality of care
• Manage medical management activities including utilization review and case management
• Oversee critical care services and ensure optimal patient care
• Collaborate with other departments to enhance patient care delivery
• Oversight and growth of the Specialty Division in our Nursing Home Division (Bronx Medical PC at Essen Health Care)
• Serve as Facility Medical Director for a select number of facilities on behalf of NH Division (Bronx Medical PC at Essen Health Care)

Qualifications

• MD/DO
• Post‑residency experience in a clinical setting preferred
• Strong leadership skills with experience in supervising medical staff
• In‑depth knowledge of Nursing & Rehabilitation centers and medical best practices
• Familiarity with managed care principles
• Ability to adhere to regulatory standards and quality measures

Salary: $250,000–$275,000
