About the Unit & Hospital
1G is a 22‑bed progressive non‑ICU unit at Blodgett Hospital that cares for medically complex patients, such as those with cardiac arrhythmias or requiring BIPAP. Blodgett Hospital, founded in 1846, offers patient‑focused inpatient care in 248 private rooms and a range of outpatient services, with a reputation for excellence and high patient satisfaction.
Scope of Work
- Acts as a team member in delivering quality patient care under the supervision of an RN or provider.
- Performs basic nursing skills such as taking vitals, checking blood sugars, bed bathing, ambulating, wound care, and catheterization.
- Functions as a safety attendant and monitors patients’ physiological, psychological, sociocultural, and spiritual needs.
- Communicates observations to the health‑care team.
- Ensures accurate and timely documentation.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Active AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 90 days of hire.

Site – Blodgett Hospital, 1840 Wealthy St SE, Grand Rapids. Department – Med Surg Care Unit 1G, Blodgett – Grand Rapids Hosp. Employment type: Full time. Shift: Night (United States of America). Hours: 36 per week, 7:00 pm‑7:30 am. Days worked: Variable. Weekend frequency: Every third weekend.
