Job Description
Daviess Community Hospital is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to fill a PRN position at our QuickCare Clinic. The role requires educating patients and families on medications, diseases, treatment plans, and procedures for a diverse patient population, collaborating with the healthcare team to deliver optimal care and ensure good outcomes.
- Develop treatment plans for acute and chronic diseases.
- Educate and guide patients on disease prevention and healthy lifestyle habits.
- Understand changes in health promotion throughout the aging process.
- Display knowledge of growth and development principles across the lifespan and provide age‑appropriate care.
- Perform diagnostic tests and screening evaluations.
- Manage overall patient care concerning lifestyle and developmental issues.
- Emphasize preventative care and disease management.
- Communicate appropriately and clearly with coworkers.
- Prescribe medications using appropriate references.
- Treat patients and their families with respect and dignity.
- Identify and address psychosocial, cultural, ethnic, and religious/spiritual needs.
- Revise the plan of care based on patient response.
- Complete computerized documentation in patient charts within the required timeframe.
- Apply clinic policies and procedures, performance improvement, safety, environmental, and infection control standards.
Qualifications
- Current Nurse Practitioner License or current Physician Assistant license.
- Current BLS certification. ACLS certified.
- Confidence in diagnosing, treating, educating, and assisting patients of all ages to manage illnesses.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, confident with EMR documentation and computer skills.
- Experience preferred but not mandatory.
