Job Description
Daviess Community Hospital is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner(NP) or a Physician Assistant (PA) . Position requires the ability toeducate patients and families on medications, diseases, treatment plansand procedures for a diverse patient population. Effectively collaboratewith members of the healthcare team to offer the best patient care andensure good outcomes are achieved.
- Develops treatment plans for acute and chronic diseases.
- Educating and guiding patients on disease prevention and healthy lifestyle habits.
- Understands the changes in health promotion throughout the aging process.
- Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development overthe life span and the skills necessary to provide age appropriate careto the patients served.
- Performs diagnostic tests and screening evaluations.
- Managing overall patient care regarding lifestyle and development issues.
- Emphasizing preventative care and disease management.
- Communicates appropriately and clearly to coworkers.
- Prescribes medications while using medication references as needed.
- Treats patients and their families with respect and dignity. <
- Identifies and addresses psychosocial, cultural, ethnic and religious/spiritualneeds of patients and family.
- Revises plan of care as indicated by the patient's response to treatment.
- Completes computerized documentation in patient's charts in appropriatetime frame.
- Knowledge of established clinic policies and procedures, objectives, performanceimprovement program, safety, environmental and infection control standards.
Qualifications
- Current Nurse Practitioner License or current Physician Assistant license
- Current BLS certification. ACLS certified.
- Confident in diagnosing, treating, education, and assisting patients ofall ages to manage illnesses.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, confident with EMR documentationand computer skills.
