Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant – Psychiatry Consult Liaison

Provide healthcare services to patients under the supervision of and/or in collaboration with the attending physician
Perform medical evaluations, treatment, counseling, referrals, diagnostic evaluations, therapeutic remediation, surgical assistance, and pharmaceutical prescription
Assess, treat, counsel, and educate patients and their families
Evaluate patients and perform physical examinations, including obtaining, studying, and updating medical histories
Administer or order diagnostic tests and accurately interpret results
Develop and implement patient management and treatment plans
Coordinate and communicate patient care with healthcare professionals and institutions
Provide high-quality care based on best-practice and evidence-based medicine
Perform therapeutic and diagnostic procedures aligned with granted clinical privileges
Conduct virtual care services when requested, including clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment, care coordination, and escalation of care
Maintain professional and technical knowledge and required continuing medical education
Participate in research, clinical guideline development, implementation, and tracking
Teach multidisciplinary students and physician residents and fellows
Participate in AP student clinical rotation preceptorship when assigned
Support performance improvement in clinical, customer service, operational, and safety areas
Utilize the electronic medical record and maintain documentation optimized for billing
Demonstrate financial responsibility through efficient use of resources
Perform routine health maintenance activities
Coordinate patient care and family counseling with public and mental health agencies
Teach wellness habits and educate patients on prevention and management of health problems
Provide patient health care information and materials
Provide occupational health services in urgent care, including pre-employment physicals, injury care, and workers' compensation cases and follow-ups

Requirements

  • Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner or Medical Physician Assistant
  • Current license to practice in Pennsylvania or New Jersey, as determined by the job location
  • Physician Assistants must hold current certification through the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
  • Ability to perform physical examinations and interpret radiologic and laboratory studies
  • Competency in assessment, treatment, counseling, patient education, and care coordination
  • Ability to perform therapeutic and diagnostic procedures within granted clinical privileges
  • Proficiency utilizing electronic medical records and maintaining billing-appropriate documentation
  • Ability to meet physical and sensory requirements, including prolonged sitting, standing, walking, lifting, carrying, pushing, stooping, bending, reaching, grasping, hearing, seeing, and speaking
  • Employment history for the past seven years must be included in the application
