Job Overview

Advanced Practice Provider (APP) for pediatric Plastic Surgery within the academic Pediatric Plastic Surgery and Cleft and Craniofacial practice. The APP will provide independent ambulatory care, participate in shared surgeon clinics, and support the multidisciplinary Cleft Craniofacial program through patient management and program coordination.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive ambulatory care for pediatric Plastic Surgery patients, including history, physical exam, assessment, and management of non‑operative conditions.
  • Perform post‑operative follow‑up, wound and scar evaluations, and coordinate care for complex patients.
  • Order, interpret diagnostic studies, and manage medications within approved protocols.
  • Develop treatment plans, coordinate referrals, and assist with surgical candidacy and planning in collaboration with the Plastic Surgery team.
  • Coordinate clinic preparation, patient follow‑up, and multidisciplinary documentation.
  • Participate in surgical planning conferences, quality, accreditation, and program‑development activities.
  • Facilitate communication with families, community providers, and internal team members; partner with clinic leadership, nursing, and administrative staff.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5 years of Nurse Practitioner experience.
  • Spanish fluency.
  • Pediatric clinical experience.
  • Cleft Craniofacial experience.
  • Pediatric Plastic Surgery experience.
  • Experience working in multidisciplinary clinic settings.
  • Experience with quality improvement, accreditation preparation, or program development.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education and experience that provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities, including any required licenses or certifications.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher for PA applicants; Master’s or doctoral degree in nursing for NP applicants.
  • State licensure as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner in California and appropriate national certifications as specified for PA, NP, BLS, and DEA as required for outpatient prescribing.

Pay Range

Minimum to Midpoint Range (Hourly): $87.55 to $109.44. Salary determined by level, education, experience, and internal equity.
