Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant - Orthopedic Urgent Care - FT - Caldwell, ID (Caldwell Health Plaza)

Overview

Saint Alphonsus Medical Group (SAMG) is a physician-led 650+ provider multispecialty group offering an opportunity for an Advanced Practice Provider (PA or NP) who supports a multidisciplinary team approach to patient care in orthopedic and sports injury urgent care as part of a larger orthopedic program.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate musculoskeletal injuries and sport-related concussions presenting to the walk-in orthopedic urgent care.
• Provide direct patient management including exams, procedures and services such as multiple joint injections, splinting, casting, bracing, and comprehensive history and physicals.
• Coordinate proper referrals and manage both acute and chronic, non-surgical conditions.
• Order, interpret and evaluate laboratory and diagnostic data; prescribing medications; and develop comprehensive treatment plans.

The advanced practice provider will be responsible for delivering care in collaboration with the ortho team and may float to regular urgent care and/or orthopedic trauma & fracture coverage.

Support

You will join a team of 3 dedicated Sports Medicine physicians supporting the orthopedic urgent care and sports clinic. An Athletic Trainer serves as the clinic support role. The clinic at Emerald includes on-site urgent care capabilities and X-ray in the building.

Qualifications

• Current, unrestricted Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner license in Idaho; valid controlled substance registration with Idaho Board of Pharmacy and DEA.
• Strong medical background with a desire to develop a practice supporting a growing multi-specialty medical group.
• Ability to obtain Idaho medical licensure to maintain and strengthen the system-wide internal program across communities served.
• Prior healthcare experience in an urgent care or emergency setting is desirable.

Schedule

Ortho Urgent Care work primarily Monday-Friday, with mid-day to early-evening hours. Occasional weekend shifts seasonally to coincide with area tournaments.

Call

1:5 after-hours clinic call rotation including weekends.
