Practice Setting
NICU Level III (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit)
Shift
Full-time position with long hours. Work 7 days, then have 7 days off. Each shift is 12 hours (either during the day or at night).
Responsibilities
- Working in a Level III NICU
- Handling ventilation (helping babies breathe with machines)
- Inserting breathing tubes (like ETT)
- Using non-invasive breathing support (like BiPAP/CPAP)
- Putting in chest tubes
- Performing blood transfusions (exchange transfusions)
- Placing central lines (UAC/UVC)
- Doing lumbar punctures (LPs)
- Managing blood pressure and volume issues
- Inserting central lines and arterial lines
- Conducting diagnostic or therapeutic taps (checking or treating fluid in the body)
Qualifications
- Must be Board Certified in Neonatology and have experience as a NICU Physician Assistant (PA)

- Must have a valid license to practice in New York
- This is necessary!
- Should be experienced and able to work with patients independently
- This is essential!
Certification Requirements
- Board Certified
- Must have a State License in New York
