Position Summary
Washington Regional's Emergency Medicine Department is seeking a full‑time Advanced Practice Provider or Physician Assistant to support high‑volume emergency care at two locations: the main campus and the winged specialty hospital in Fayetteville.
Essential Position Responsibilities
- Perform physical examinations to evaluate health and diagnose illnesses
- Order and perform diagnostic tests, including x‑rays and laboratory work
- Determine, plan, and initiate appropriate treatment, and adjust treatment as necessary
- Prescribe and dispense medications
- Document patient medical information and maintain electronic medical records
- Educate, instruct, and counsel patients and families on health problems, treatment plans, and home care; promote preventative health care and positive behaviors
- Request consultation or referral with other health care providers
- Maintain current knowledge of medical research and trends and support research projects
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program
- Verified Arkansas license (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) and CPR certification; national certification required
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a clinical nursing role
Work Environment
Position requires approximately 80% of time standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, or carrying up to 50 lbs., and 20% of time sitting in a standard office setting.
